Does it seem as if you have been praying for a special need or desire of your heart for an endless amount of time? Read the sign again. “Don’t Give Up. God Hears You When You Pray.” God truly does hear our prayers. Matthew 6:6 says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Just a couple more verses and I find that God knows my needs before I ask.

I serve an omniscient God who knows all about me. He knows what my prayers will hold even before I speak. Yet He says I have not because I ask not. (James 4:2)

Psalm 66:18 reminds me that, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” If there is sin in my life, I must first seek God’s forgiveness, and then take my request to Him. Of course, I know that although He will hear my prayer it does not guarantee a quick answer, and many times the answer will not be as I had requested. God loves me and will do what is best for me. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

So how can I be sure He will hear my prayer? I will search my heart; be sure I am free of sin. Then I will take my prayer to Him knowing the answer will come in His way and His time. Until then I will continue to pray, always asking that His will, will be done.

I won’t give up. I know the answers, and the blessings will come.
