PUSH

I saw a sign that gave a whole new meaning to PUSH, at least for me. I have always believed push meant to shove something; to move it to another place. Then too, it may mean drive or ambition, to get things done.

Today I read the sign that said, “P.U.S.H., Pray until Something Happens.”

I like that. Many times I have heard, don’t give up, keep trying, and keep praying. I thought of the parable of the persistent widow found in Luke 18. Verse 5 says, “Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.” Then in verse 7 I find, “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” So, I continue to pray until God answers. I have heard of situations where the same request was made to God for many years before the answer came. It may be for healing, a job situation, or most often for the salvation of a friend or family member. Though the answer does not always come as I want or even when I want, I know God hears and I trust Him to answer in a way that is best. Even the faith that allows me to continue to hope comes from God.

When the answer comes, or even as I wait, I will thank Him. Thank Him for allowing me to come before His throne. Thank Him for the love, protection, and provision that He daily sets before me. I will continue to PUSH; pray until something happens.

Knowing that God cares, listens, and responds is a blessing known to all who love Him.
