I so appreciate songwriters and their ability to write in a way that is both honoring and praiseworthy to God, yet encouraging to fellow Christians. I see this as a gift and a special blessing from God.

I heard a song recently that I have heard many times before, and again it brought a special blessing to me. It spoke of the Book, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope. These three things have helped to make me who I am; to make my life what it is today. Without God, I would not have or even know of these but without them, my life would be empty of the joy, promise, and fulfillment they bring.

“Behold, I come quickly; blessed is he that keepeth the saying of the prophecy of this book.” That’s Revelation 22:7. It’s not enough to know what the Bible says, but God wants us to understand and live by His words; to keep the sayings of the book.

Ephesians 1:7 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” There is no other way that my sins could be forgiven but through the blood of Jesus Christ.

And the blessed hope! In Titus 2:13 I find these words, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” There will come that day when my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ will return. I can only imagine the beauty, splendor, and power of His return when He comes to gather His bride for the journey home. As it tells me in 1Thessalonians 4:17, “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

The Book, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope; three tremendous blessings from my awesome, magnificent God.
