I received a small card last week from a dear sister in Christ. On it, she had written just a few words of encouragement which meant a lot to me. But she had also written 1 Peter 5:7 which reads, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
I wondered if it could be as easy as 1 Peter says. Could I just give it all to God and not carry the worries and concerns of today?
I searched for more familiar scriptures that promise me that He will take and carry the load. I think we all know Matthew 11:28. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD” That’s Psalm 31:24.
Then I read Psalm 27:14. “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Most of us probably know Jeremiah 29:11 by heart. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
These are just a few of the many, many promises found in God’s Word. God loves me and cares about every detail of my life. Yes, I can take my cares, concerns, and problems to Him, In His love for me He will repair, restore, and rebuild, making me whole again and ready to serve Him.
What a blessing to know that God will keep every promise found in His Holy Word.
