As I read 2 Chronicles 29:11 a couple of weeks ago it seemed as though God was reminding me that there is much to be done in service to Him. Let me read the verse again. “My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.” Even as Hezekiah reminded the Levites of their calling to minister in service to God, it seemed God was reminding me that many have been called to serve Him who are no longer available in the work of the Lord.

Am I doing my best to serve in the field God has called me to? Have I been neglectful in my training, my service, or my commitment to what he has directed me to do? I will review my “orders”, being sure that I am careful to follow His directions. I may need to back up a step, then “catch up” the tasks I have been assigned. I know it’s not too late to continue and finish on time. With God as my leader, guide, and coach the victory is mine. I saw a sign just today that said, “He will give you the light and strength you need.”

What a blessing to know that I can count on God to always be with me, to encourage, and cheer me on to finish all that I need to do. His words are true and His promises are sure.
