I heard a song today that reminded me of a scripture I have relied on many times and in my mind, I usually hear the song that says, ‘Be not afraid, it’s only the Master.” The song I heard today said, “Be not afraid for it is I” Then I heard, “The storms may rage the winds may blow but they are under my control.”

Matthew 14:27 says, “But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.” I know whatever storm I may face it is under His control. I may have to venture into the storm and make my way through it, but I am never alone. So many times in the darkest part of the night when the fear is so close it seems I can hear my Savior say, “Be not afraid, I am right here with you.” I talk to Him as I feel His presence surround me, sometimes calming me and other times calming the storm. Always He is teaching me to rely on Him. Though I don’t like the practice that makes my faith strong, I am always glad to give my problems to Him.

I’m sure we will face many storms in this life, but we need not face them alone. I don’t know what storm you may be dealing with but I pray you are trusting the Lord for strength and safety. Listen for His voice as He calls out, “Be not afraid.” Find comfort and peace in Him as the storm subsides.

Knowing that my life is under His control, through the good times and the storms, is a blessing beyond measure.
