As I wondered about how to share the blessings I have encountered this week, I was reminded of a book I just finished reading. It’s Splashes of Joy in the Cesspools of Life by Barbara Johnson. As I spent time reading I also spent time laughing, out loud.
With the crisis our country is in, I think to throw a little humor in the mix might be a good thing. With that in mind I have included some quotes from the book. I hope they will at least bring a smile in your day.
I’m not going to worry unless the animals start lining up two by two for the next space shuttle.
I used to be apathetic – Now I just don’t care.
My mind works like lightning – one brilliant flash and then it’s gone again. (Boy, can I relate to that!)
Good morning, Humpty Dumpty sir. How amazing you’re still here! By legend you were shattered, how cohesive you appear. Humpty jumped, and said with a smile, “The tale of horses and men wasn’t the end! The King himself put me together again!”
And don’t we know there is nothing the King cannot make right? The King of Kings that I love and serve has not left me. As Pastor said last Sunday, God has a plan. One day, soon maybe, I will be able to look back and see how things worked together to complete this plan. His way is best! His way is right!
Isaiah 30:21 says it best. “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
Barbara ended the book with a memo; one fit for the last page of any book, life, or crisis.
Memo: Gone to father’s house to prepare your place. Will be back soon to pick you up. Jesus
What a blessing to know the King and that He will return!
